Miami Condo Living’s Featured Resident

At Miami Condo Living we are excited to introduce you our first monthly feature urbanite resident.   We had the pleasure to visit Angel Rodriguez , one of Miami’s top florist designers.  Angel kindly invited us to his lovely condo at Quantum on the Bay in Edgewater for a chat about living in one the most desirable areas, designing for small spaces and what it’s like living in the Magic City. Enjoy!

Name: Angel Rodriguez

Occupation: Owner and floral designer of Rodri Studio, Inc. www.rodricreations.com

Location: Quantum on the Bay, Edgewater (located between 17th – 36th street & Biscayne Blvd/Bay)

What’s your style? Although very eclectic, I call my style modern glam, a mix of modern design with Hollywood glam: from bold colors to flashy chandeliers.

What design tips do you recommend when living in an apartment?

FR Quote & Pictures Angel Rodriguez
#1 Buy furniture that fits the scale of the apartment. For small spaces you don’t want to buy pieces that are too big because it makes the room smaller than it actually is.

#2 Buy dual purpose pieces. When buying, think of things that can serve as furniture but also as storage, or for example, I bought a bench that I placed against a wall with an over sized canvas hanged above it, this is a visually interesting cozy area, but since I do a lot of entertaining, I place the bench by the dining table and it fits additional guests at the table.

#3 Don’t be afraid to use color whether on the wall or as an accent, be creative and enjoy the coziness of small spaces.

What do you love most about living in a high rise building?

I love the view that high rise condos provide, to me that is always the big selling point, especially those with ocean front. It’s peaceful up here.

Master bedroom featuring soothing colors with Hollywood glam.

I love the Daily, it’s a block down, they have amazing food and it’s a great spot to have breakfast on a Sunday morning while reading the newspaper.

Whats’ your favorite neighborhood getaway?

I love the park in front of the building. You can walk around; see your neighbors walking their dogs, socialize with others or have a nice picnic. It reminds me the idea of Utopian living.

What you love most about living in Miami?

Miami is home. It’s a one of a kind place: culture, fashion, fine dining and of course beautiful people, it’s where urban meets paradise.

Thank you Angel for sharing your wonderful space with our readers!
